After you contact Jaclyn, she will reach out via phone or email to discuss your or your child's concerns and determine if she's the right fit. If she is, appointments for the assessment can be scheduled; if not, she will recommend someone who may be a better fit.
You will meet with Jaclyn for about 90 minutes, either in-person on a Friday or via video consult on a Monday. During this session, she will gather a developmental history to better understand the situation. At the end of the appointment, Jaclyn will discuss if any changes are needed to the assessment process.
This part of the assessment process will involve 1 to 4 in-person appointments on Fridays, depending on the type of assessment. Each appointment typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. For child assessment appointment, parents tend to not be present in the room but are welcome to sit in the waiting area.
With your consent, Jaclyn will contact individuals involved in supporting you or your child (e.g., teachers, professionals, etc.) to gather information for the assessment. This will also include online questionnaires for you and others, depending on the type of assessment booked.
Upon completion of the assessment, a detailed report will be provided, including background information, clinical observations, results with interpretation, and recommendations. The report will be provided after the feedback appointment and once all invoices are paid.
Once the report is nearly finished, Jaclyn will schedule a 60-minute in-person feedback appointment on a Friday to discuss the assessment outcomes, your strengths and vulnerabilities, and support strategies that have been recommended. If the assessment is for a child, they will attend this appointment with their family. Parents can schedule their own feedback appointment via video consult on Monday, with additional sessions available upon request.
